All I can say is I just hope this is not a sign of what is to come.
Estelle, British, Singer, Super Talented, Made some amazing music over the years, one of my favourites, looks like she is heading down to one hit wonder town.
Her third album, All of Me, is on the way, expected to be released in the next month or two. After having huge success with the single American Boy off her last album, I was expecting some good production and hopefully some big tracks on the new album, maybe her best yet.
Well this all changed this evening when I got a look and a listen to her first single from the upcoming album, Freak. This song is very different from what we know from estelle, it’s electronic samlples and heavy bass line sound like something you would hear being played by a bad Dj at some shiteous club.
This song sounds like it never got out of the demo stage. Disappointing.
And the video? well… meh.
Slightly devastated, but still hopeful that maybe there will a good song on the album.

K-Pop Time!
Arguably the ‘Cute’ girl group of Korea, KARA has done a 180 and left their well-known bubbly image behind, choosing a dark sexy concept for their comeback.
The new single is titled Lupin, it may not be the best song to come from the K-pop world, but it hold its own. There is no doubt that this track will be a hit, but it won’t captivate the nation like their Butt Dance did with the song Mister.

This is the first and only track I am posting from Rihanna’s latest album, which came out last year. The main reason is, I was really disappointed with the managment of the record and didn’t think it deserved promotion.
But all of a sudden someone in Rihanna’s camp decided to actually put some effort into promotion and release a song which has potential to be played on radio.
The new single is called Rude Boy and the video has just been released, very reminiscent of M.I.A.

UK outfit New Young Pony Club are back with new material for 2010!
Their upcoming second album, The Optimist, is due to hit stores in early March.
The First taste from the album is a track called Chaos. From listening to Chaos, without a doubt the sound on the new album will be different from their earlier work.
As a big fan of New Young Pony Club and I am hopping that there are some great album tracks on The Optimist, cause right now I’m not feeling very optimistic.

SNSD or Girls Generation are the epitome of K-Pop.
Bouncy songs and amazing choreography. The highest selling single in the last ten years. When they release a new song, the internet severs in Korea crash. Etc.
SNSD has set the level high and everyone was expecting something big from their return this month with their second album.
Oh! is the new single. While it is not bad, it isn’t their best work. These kind of ‘extreme cheese’ songs like oh!, are what gives K-Pop a bad name.
It’s still catchy and everyone will still have the panties in a twist over these girls, but we are waiting for the full album to be released before we pass final judgement.

I am all for giving credit, where credit is due.
The last person on the planet I thought I would be giving credit to is Ms.INEEDASHOWER, Ms.I’MCOOLBECAUSEIPUTADOLLARSIGNINMYNAME, Ke$ha.
Everyone knows I’m not a fan, but her new promo singe Blah Blah Blah deserves some recognition. Not so much for Kesha but for the producers, Benny Blanco and Dr.Luke. Both are known for making hit pop songs for the likes of Britney, Katy Perry and so on.
Once again Blah Blah Blah is a fantastically put together pop song, if Kesha wasn’t singing it, it might be ok.

Peaches is back with a new single from her album of last year, I Feel Cream.
Relax is the new single, an electronic track with strong urban beats and a great hook.
I can’t get the chorus out of my head!
In true Peaches style the song is pretty cool and the Video is absolutely bizarre.

I would call myself someone who likes pop, but I’ve never really ever liked euro pop, it has a lot more misses than hits.
I am not about to change my tune just yet, but I shall make a very rare exception. Danish pop group Alphabeat’s latest single Hole In My Heart from their new album The Spell, gets just a pass.
I actually like the song up until the female vocalist comes in and its not because of her I don’t like it, it’s the 90’s euro sounding synth that makes me want to puke.
All in all I can keep my food down.
